Bridlewood-Emerald Meadows was mainly agricultural until 1960 when it was developed. Since then it has experienced rapid growth and has become the beautiful, green neighbourhood it is today. Bridlewood-Emerald Meadows is surrounded by the Greenbelt, Richmond Road, and Eagleson Road with the Trans-Canada Trail running through. The neighbourhood is filled with trees, parks, biking paths, and walking trails. It is mainly an English speaking neighbourhood with only a small percentage of people speaking French or other languages.

Recreation

Bridlewood-Emerald Meadows boasts lots of recreational opportunities available to its residents. Baseball diamonds, basketball courts, play structures, sports fields, tennis courts, a skateboard park, sledding hills, and a splash pad. The neighbourhood also boasts two community centres and an impressive nine outdoor rinks in the winter. The community association organizes March Break Movie Night, Spring Sports program, True Sport Play Day, Big Bridlewood Garage Sale, Volunteer and Member Appreciation BBQ, Family Bike Chase, Holiday Decorating contest and December Social each year.
